Policy updates approved by the Board of Trustees at the Jan. 24 meeting

At the January 24, 2018 meeting, the Board of Trustees approved the following changes to College policy:

Policy 3805 (Alcohol Consumption & Possession) – New
Policy 5325 (Students, Alcoholic Beverages) – Approved for Elimination
Policy 3812 / WAC 132G-276-090 (Public Records) – Revised

Ski, snowboard, or snowshoe trip to Stevens Pass

Faculty, staff, and current students are invited to come enjoy the slopes at Stevens Pass with Shoreline’s intramurals department.

Event Date: 2/10/18 8:30am-7:00pm
The charter bus will leave Shoreline’s campus at 8:30am and leave the pass at 4:30pm, returning to campus around 7pm (depending on traffic). The trip is open to faculty, staff, and current students and participants can choose to ski, snowboard, or snowshoe.

Prices vary:
$102.75 equipment rental & lift ticket
$66.75 lift ticket only
$28.00 snowshoe rental & trail pass
$17.60 trail pass only

is Shoreline Community College’s student-run — and award-winning — Art and Literary Journal. It has a rich history of publishing outstanding student, local, and regional art and literature since 1966. The deadline to submit work for the 2018 edition is Wed., Jan. 31.

There’s a new Group in town: Social Justice Collective

The Social Justice Collective is committed to creating a campus climate that values equity and social justice at its core. Through collaborative action, the SJC engages and builds awareness of social justice programming and critical pedagogies. We are a new group that is recruiting members from all over campus—anyone interested in creating and supporting a campus devoted to social justice issues is welcome! Details about our first meet and greet and how to sign up to participate are on the college calendar under SJC Open House on Jan. 25th.
