That Which I Love Destroys Me is a unique and powerful film by director Ric Roman Waugh. TWILDM is an uncensored look at the current epidemic of PTSD and severe mental trauma that create tremendous challenges for returning service members. A five-year labor of love, TWILDM followed two Special Operations Soldiers as they returned home after fighting in the longest combat campaign in American history only to face a new battle; the effects and stigma of PTSD and reintegration as a whole. But more importantly, the documentary addresses how they’re overcoming these issues.

Our sincere thanks for your continued support of our student veterans and our program.  We hope to see you there!

AVID AHE coach on campus May 11 and 12

The purpose of Yvonne’s visit is for her to learn about Shoreline’s key projects and future plans related to student success. In her two days here, Yvonne will engage in conversations with faculty and staff from instruction and student services. As our AHE coach, she can apply her wealth of experience and expertise to help us enhance and support our student success efforts. Yvonne’s visit provides an excellent opportunity for us to reflect on the work we have accomplished over the year and how to move forward even more effectively.

SAVE THE DATE: Spring Quarter Campus Community Update on Fri., May 20

After months of work by hundreds of members of the campus and the community-at-large, our Strategic Plan is ready to roll out. Please join me and members of the Executive Team for a Campus Community Update on Friday, May 20, 2016 from 2:00 – 3:30 PM in the PUB’s Main Dining Room.

The work ahead involves gathering baseline data, researching best practices, and creating the annual plans to reach the five (5) year goals we have identified in our 2016 – 2021 Strategic Plan.  This will require new and some existing committees to recommend work through a shared planning and participatory structure.

At the May 20 Campus Community Update, we will:
• Outline the principles of the work ahead, describe the new Steering Committees, and give you an advance look at the structures and work to begin in the fall.

Your ongoing work is producing great results and the Executive Team and I will highlight some of those successes.

Folding together the current work we have been successfully doing, with the new and continuing work demanded by the Strategic Plan, will ensure our students’ achievement as we work together.

I look forward to seeing you on Friday, May 20 for this interactive conversation as we roll out the next chapter of our Strategic Plan.
