We at Counseling Services would like to share a blurb about our services that you may use in your syllabi for Spring Quarter and/or post on Canvas:

Whether you are feeling overwhelmed, having difficulty in your classes or undecided about your major, Counseling Services is here to help. Counseling Services provides free, confidential and professional mental health and career counseling services, resource information and referral to both on and off campus supports. Visit FOSS 5229 or call 206.546.4559 to make an appointment. Check out Counseling Services online here.

You’re invited to the Music Department’s First Annual Spring Soiree

Greetings!

The music department would love to have you join us for our first annual Shoreline Community College Spring Soiree. The event will feature several faculty performers, including the amazing and talented Dave Bristow, Jim Elenteny, Jeff Junkinsmith, Jeff Kashiwa, Steve Kim, Meg Stecker-Thorsen, and more!

We’ll start with an opening cocktail/social hour at 3 pm – with a few of our best and brightest students providing music in the Campus Theater lobby. At around 4 pm, the faculty performances will begin on the main theater stage and will last around an hour – more program details will follow next week.

We hope you can join us for this very special event – all proceeds from ticket sales and beverage/snack sales will go to the Music Scholarship Fund.

Sunday, April 3 – Shoreline Campus Theater
3:00 cocktail hour/lobby performances (beer, wine and snacks available for purchase)
4:00 faculty on the main stage

Suggested Donation –
$20 General Admission
$10 SCC Students

Trustees approve tenure for six faculty

Six Shoreline Community College faculty members received tenure in unanimous votes by the college Board of Trustees at their March 16, 2016 regular meeting. All six were third-year faculty candidates. The Board approved tenure for Matt Allison (Studio Arts), Brad Fader (Accounting), Katie Fleming (Dental Hygiene), Betty Kost (Nursing), Michelle Kleisath (Multicultural Studies), and Rosalie Tepper (Mathematics).

Congratulations to our new tenure faculty!

eLearning Peer Mentor Open House, Mon., March 7

Our Canvas Peer Mentoring Program has been so successful that we have two new peer mentors for 2016!

Please join us on Mon., March 7 from 2-4pm for a Peer Mentor Open House in the eLearning Center, Building 1200, Room 1208. This event is for instructors to meet the new peer mentors and to discuss working with us Spring Quarter 2016!
