Vote for Dave Snell’s Son as Outstanding Minor League Player of the Year!

 blake snell
Blake Snell, the son of Shoreline’s men’s baseball coach, Dave Snell, has been nominated by USA Today as one of five outstanding Minor League Players of the Year. He attended Shorewood High School and now pitches for the Tampa Bay Rays minors.

Five players have been nominated for the honor of Top Outstanding player, and USA Today is asking their readership to weigh in on the decision by voting for their top choice. Head here to read about the players and to VOTE FOR BLAKE!

Here’s USA Today’s write up on Blake:
Snell’s ERA through 22 appearances (20 starts) stretched over three levels was 1.51. While much of that was built on the strength of a 46-inning scoreless streak to start the season (49 overall dating back to last year) he has been dominant throughout. Consider that he allowed one earned run or less in 15 of his 22 appearances and that on 10 of those occasions he didn’t allow any runs. Overall, the former first-round pick (2011) was 13-4 through Aug. 23 with a 0.99 WHIP through 118 innings. He is not on the 40-man roster, either, and the Rays haven’t let him go deeper than 5 1/3 innings through six starts at Durham (N.C.) of the AAA International Leagueso it’s not likely that he will get a call in September.
They are running a vote – and have a nice write-up on each player. See the story Who is the Minor League Player of the Year? and vote at the same location.

Congrats Snell family!

Parking Lot Striping Project Begins Tues., August 25

parkingJust a heads up that, beginning Tues., August 24, we’ll be working on updating the striping in the parking lots campus-wide. This will be an ongoing project that we hope to have finished by Sept. 6 at the latest. We appreciate your patience and cooperation during this project, and will try to keep the inconvenience to a minimum. However, as most lots will be affected at one time or another, on certain days it may be necessary to park in a lot that’s not your usual lot. Please pay attention to any posted signage and park accordingly. Thank you.

Please contact Safety and Security with any questions at (206) 546-4633 with any questions.
