Message from President Roberts: Recruitment for Exec. Dir. of Employee Engagement & Org. Learning

Greetings,

The recruitment process for the Executive Director of Employee Engagement and Organizational Learning (ED-EEOL) has concluded and, after careful consideration regarding the needs of the College, I will not be filling the position at this time. Based on the great feedback from the screening committee, I will be re-examining the position this summer with the intent to refine and re-open the ED-EEOL for recruitment during fall 2017.

My thanks to both the screening committee members for their work and to those of you who were able to participate in the open forum process for this position. Your feedback was essential in determining the next best steps for the College and I look forward to your involvement this fall.

 Respectfully,

Cheryl Roberts, Ed.D.
President

Last chance – please take a short survey on Dropout Detective pilot: Due TODAY

Shoreline is piloting Dropout Detective in online and hybrid classes. Dropout Detective integrates into Canvas and helps faculty and Success Coaches, at a glance, identify and support at-risk students.

The pilot project started Fall 2016. The College is evaluating whether to renew the license, due to expire September 1, 2017. Your input will help inform this decision.

Please respond to this quick 3-question survey by Wed., June 21 to give your feedback.

Thank you in advance for your time and participation!

Message from President Roberts: PEBB Health Care Benefits Update

Dear Colleague,

Recently, there have been inquiries regarding the impact of the anticipated government shutdown if the legislature does not pass a budget prior to July 1. As I indicated in my end-of-year message to the campus, the College is committed to operating through summer quarter in service to our diverse students and communities.

Some of you may have seen messages from the state discussing the anticipated impact of the shutdown to areas such as health care services provided under your benefit coverage through the Public Employees Benefits Board (PEBB). While other state agencies may be preparing for this potential impact to benefit coverage, please note that as a Shoreline employee, your PEBB benefits (which include medical, dental, life, and long-term disability insurance) will continue through summer based on the anticipated decision by the Board of Trustees to pass a continuing resolution so the College can commit operating funds beginning July 1, 2017.

Additional information from PEBB related to the potential state government shutdown can be found HERE.

If you have additional questions, please contact Stuart Trippel or Veronica Zura at any time.

Thank you,

Cheryl Roberts, Ed.D.

President
