Commencement Updates!

Commencement Updates – Week of May 30

  • We’re under 3 weeks away from this year’s Commencement and volunteers are still needed for various roles during both the morning and afternoon ceremonies. Faculty and staff who help with both ceremonies will be provided with lunch. For more information and to sign up to help, click here.
  • Students received two e-mails in the last few weeks with Commencement-related information about the following:
  • Preparing for Commencement – students have been instructed to arrive 75 minutes before the ceremony begins (8:45am for the 10am ceremony and 12:45pm for the 2pm ceremony) in order to get ready and lined up in time; they are strongly encouraged to watch this video with details about what to expect before and during the ceremonies
  • Tickets – information on when to expect them via mail and initial directions for pickup the week before and on the day of Commencement
  • Doors and seating – doors to the gym will open one hour prior to the start of each ceremony and will close when the ceremony begins; late arrivals will be directed to overflow seating areas in the 3000 small gym and PUB main dining room
  • Parking and shuttles – parking on campus will be free for graduates and guests on June 18th; a courtesy shuttle will be provided beginning 90 minutes before the start of each ceremony and will circle the campus and drop off behind the 2900 building
  • Accommodations – anyone attending Commencement who would like to request accommodations can do so by completing this form.

We’ll be sharing additional updates as Commencement draws near. If you could help to share this information with your students and encourage them to check their e-mail and the Commencement website for regular updates, we would really appreciate it. If you have any questions about Commencement, please e-mail commencement@shoreline.edu.
