How to Access Faster Wi-Fi on Campus

If you are approved to work on campus and sometimes experience slow Wi-Fi, it could be that you are connected to the wrong network. Some employees are connecting to “SCC Event,” which is not optimized for use by campus students and employees.

For best results, change your Wi-Fi connection on your devices to use “SCC Staff.” This will require entering your Shoreline email address and password and will provide the fastest, most secure connection.

If you need assistance determining whether you are connected to the wrong Wi-Fi network or changing your connection, please email tss@shoreline.edu.

Student AFA Graduation Virtual Exhibition

The current graduates of Shoreline’s Fine Arts program exhibit the finest samples of their work in painting, drawing, design, ceramics, photography, and sculpture. The Shoreline Community College Art Gallery is proud to present this group exhibition of up-and-coming artists to the greater Seattle arts community.

The artwork in this virtual exhibition represents the culmination of two years of hard work and creativity. It is inspiring to see the quality and integrity of their work and to know that our students have developed conceptual and technical skills that will help them realize their goals.


Many of the students represented in this show have completed the requirements for an Associate of Fine Arts degree, a two-year program of study and creative development in the visual arts. Shoreline has two AFA degree tracks, one in Studio Arts and one in Photography.


We wish our students all the best in the next chapter of their journey and hope you enjoy seeing their most recent scholarly and artistic accomplishments.

Shoreline’s Capital Projects Receive State Funding

We appreciate the significant investments made by the Legislature in our community and technical college system and the thousands of jobs those investments will create in local communities.

Here at Shoreline Community College, we are especially grateful for the funding of construction for our long awaited Health, Science & Advanced Manufacturing Classroom Complex (HSAMCC) – the first new academic building in over 25 years. This project will ultimately remove five, one-story buildings that are over 60 years old and replace them with a state-of-the industry facility that will support the next generation of STEM and Biotechnology students into an eager workplace. (Our Dental Hygiene program will move completely to the UW School of Dentistry at the end of June, where our program will continue to provide a Shoreline degree alongside dental students and faculty who are excited and supportive of this new collaboration.)

We also received design funding for our Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, & Mathematics (STEAM) building that will house our Nursing, Mathematics, Music, Music Technology programs, and other general education classes. We are overjoyed and deeply humbled by the Legislature’s investment in our projects.

We are grateful for the Legislature’s commitment to the present and future generations of our students who will be educated in spaces that are ecologically and educationally appropriate for 21st century learning!

Guided Pathways Project Receives State Funding for 2021-2023

An Update from the Guided Pathways Core Team:

The Guided Pathways project teams are working hard to design and implement meaningful reforms to increase student success at Shoreline. At the conclusion of the recent legislative session, the Washington State Legislature recognized the efforts and needs of the Guided Pathways work at the state’s 34 community and technical colleges by increasing funding for the next two years.

Shoreline will receive approximately $1 million dollars per year in 2021-22 and 2022-23 for this important work. Watch for information soon on an end of year webinar from the Guided Pathways Core Team to update campus on what’s been accomplished this year and the goals for next year. Stay tuned!

Shoreline to enter contract for Starfish Software

Shoreline is pursuing a sole source contract with education company, EAB, for the utilization of their student success platform, Starfish.

Starfish is an enterprise-level student success software platform that allows students to connect with an individualized network of supports and facilitates scheduling and communication with students across departments. In addition to enhanced student engagement tools, Starfish offers in-depth advising solutions, predictive analytics, early alert functionality, and cohort management options.

At its foundation, Starfish helps higher education institutions implement reliable data to pinpoint areas of concern and opportunity within courses and student populations, as well as institutional programs and services. Upon identifying these opportunities, the platform enables staff to connect students with helpful resources on campus and also allows administrators to refine their student success strategies.

Please see the attached letter below for more information regarding Starfish and it’s integration with both ctcLink and Guided Pathways.

Barring any last-minute competitors for the bid, it is Shoreline’s intent to enter a 3-year contract with EAB beginning June 30, 2021.
